June: “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940”

Performances are June 6 through June 15 with a special benefit performance with the Huntingdon Chamber of Commerce on June 20.

In December 1940, an eccentric theatre financier has gathered a creative production team at her mansion in New York. Everyone believes that they will have a backer’s audition to get financing for a new musical.

However, the shadow of the team’s last show hangs over the group–deemed a flop, the previous show was ravaged by the Stage Door Slasher, a mysterious killer of chorus girls.

While an undercover police officer hopes to flush out the killer from the group of suspects, the killer has other plans. Throw in blizzard conditions, secret passageways, and some musical snippets to create a whodunnit parody, this show is full of delightful slapstick for audience of all ages.

September: “The Sensuous Senator”

Performances are September 19 through September 28.

Senator Douglas is running for President on a “morality” platform, but when his wife Lois leaves to attend a conference in Chicago he invites over Veronica, his secretary and lover. When Veronica can’t make it, he has an escort agency send over Fiona.

All seems well until the Senator’s elderly neighbor locks himself out and asks if he spend the night. Then another Congressman drops in, and Fiona thinks he’s the client. Meanwhile, Veronica changes her plans and decides to visit her boss.

The madcap bedlam comes to a head when Lois returns home and finds her Washington townhouse swarming with libidinous politicians, scantily dressed women, police, and a muckraking reporter from The National Intruder!

November: “An Orphan’s Light: Christmas at the Juniper Home”

Performances are November 21 through November 30.

After the founder of the Juniper Home for Children dies, his son decides to close the orphanage his father opened to improve working conditions and wages for employees at the candle factory. The heir has also canceled the Christmas Eve celebration, a tradition his father started when he opened the children’s home.

The head mistress and governess spend the final weeks of the year trying to place the orphans in care while the teenagers work to raise money for Christmas dinner and presents for the younger children.

Through holiday cheer and the spirit of joy and giving, the orphanage finds light and hope to persevere.
