Have you ever wanted to audition for a show, but felt like you didn’t have enough experience to do so? Do you want to brush up on some of your acting skills? Why not start with a workshop? It can provide you with a relaxed and no pressure foray into theater.
This March, we will hold two acting workshops at the Playhouse. The cost of each workshop is $20 per person. The events will cover a variety of topics from auditioning and preparing for a role to conquering the dreaded “stage fright.”
Taught by Jeanne Nagurny and Jennifer Powell, students will learn and explore the basic tenants of acting through exercises and practice. Anyone interested may sign up for one or both workshops, and each one will cover the following topics: Physical and emotional awareness, understanding stage directions, projection and voice, movement, character development, physical tells, and improvisation.
The first workshop will be held Sunday, March 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. The second will be March 20 from 3 to 5 p.m. To register or for more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 814-627-0311.
